Overview

The 2D Horizontal Profiler is the ideal tool for current measurements from a physical structure in, for example, port entrances. This ADCP provides the two horizontal flow components at multiple distances from the mounting and is commonly used in online applications where immediate access to current data is critical.

This instrument can also be used to perform river discharge measurements by River Insight.

Setup

The 2D Horizontal Profiler is set up using the Nortek deployment software, enabling users to customize measurement schemes and assess power requirements.

Deployment

While the 2D Profiler can be mounted on any subsurface structure, it is commonly attached to infrastructure surrounding port openings. It can provide real-time current information via a variety of telemetry options.

Data

The 2D Horizontal Profiler provides users with the two horizontal components of flow at different distances away from the structure it is mounted on. These data are often retrieved in real time to ensure safety in operations in busy ports and harbors.
