Nucleus 1000 expands compatibility with MarineNav ROV systems

We are pleased to announce that MarineNav Ltd, the Canadian manufacturer of Oceanus ROV systems, recently completed successful testing and trials using the Nortek Nucleus 1000 to achieve autonomous functionality as well as autonomous control on the Oceanus Pro, Oceanus P8 Pro, the Oceanus Ultimate and the Oceanus Ultimate Max submersibles.

This capability was recently showcased at the launch of MarineNav’s new autonomous series of ROV systems at COVE Demo Day in Halifax. Designed for the Oceanus P8 Pro, Oceanus Ultimate, and Oceanus Ultimate Max, these systems feature an eight-thruster configuration with full six degrees of freedom, supporting advanced functions such as waypoint navigation, position hold, and altitude and depth control—powered by Nortek’s Nucleus 1000 with built-in INS capability. 

Autonomous performance is enabled by the Nortek Nucleus 1000, which outputs DVL data in addition to AHRS, pressure, altitude and INS derived position. This creates a unified navigation solution, supporting stable and reliable operation. System accuracy can be further enhanced through optional GPS integration in both the topside control system and the ROV. MarineNav’s proprietary software provides full integration with the Nucleus 1000 via an intuitive graphical user interface.
