Webinar: Long-term continuous acoustical suspended-sediment measurements in rivers - Nortek Day March 2021

Long-term continuous acoustical suspended-sediment measurements in rivers - Theory, evaluation, and results from 17 stations on six rivers: David Topping, USGS. Presented at Virtual Nortek Day on March 17, 2021.

David Topping presents his two-frequency method for making acoustical measurements of suspended-silt-and-clay concentration, suspended-sand concentration, and suspended-sand median grain size, which he first published with Scott Wright in 2016. To date, this method has been used at 17 USGS gaging stations on six rivers in the United States.

David has conducted sediment-transport research at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) since 1993, with an emphasis on suspended sediment in rivers with large ranges in suspended-sediment concentration and grain size.
